2015 Peanut Playoff Format
Posted on May 25, 2015

The 2015 Playoff format for the Peanut division will be run as per the table below.  The playoff game schedule will be posted by the end of the regular season.

The Peanut division, with 6 teams, will see the top two teams receive a bye and automatically qualify for the semi-finals.

Playoff Series:

3th seed v. 6th seed

4th seed v. 5th seed

These will be two game series. For each of these series, the team with the most points (2 points for a win and 1 point for a tie) after two games will advance to the next round.  Should two teams be tied in points after the two game series, a winner will be decided based on aggregate goal totals.  For example, in the first game Team A beats Team B by a score of 4 to 1.  In the second game, Team B wins 3 to 2.  Team A advances based on total goals by scoring 6 goals, while Team B scored 4 goals over the two games.

Should each team still be tied after the aggregate goal total tie breaker, a ten minute overtime will be played immediately after the second game and if the two teams are still tied, a shootout will be employed to determine a winner – the shootout will be based on best of three shooters and sudden death thereafter.

The 2 winners from the above series will proceed to the semi finals.

Semi-Finals Series:
1st Place Team v. 4th Seed (based on remaining teams)
2nd Place Team v. 3rd Seed (based on remaining teams)

The winners of the playoff series will join the top two teams in the semi-finals, with the semi-final winners playing in the finals.

These series will be a best two out of three game series.

Finals:

The winners of the Semi-Finals will play in the finals for the league championships and the right to play in the BC Provincial tournament.

These series will be best two out of three game series.

As a winner is required for each game, overtime will be played in these games. Overtime will be ten minutes sudden death, followed by a shoot out to resolve any ties – the shootout will be based on best of three shooters and sudden death thereafter.
